As I contemplate returning to my writing after an unexpected hiatus, I shall think about my manifesto. My creative drive is mostly about sharing my knowledge and concerns about food and food systems.
Number 3 (how do we heart without emojis?!)!! Becoming a mother is probably the greatest identity shift I’ve experienced and becoming intimate with the societal expectations and assumptions placed upon it has been humbling. I too find so much beauty and art in motherhood, not least how we navigate what is imposed upon us vs what we feel, as the relationship between these two states feels so close to the relationship I have with art!
Oh, thank you for reading, Nicola! I'm so glad that point resonated. Even with the constraints (is this the word I'm looking for?) of parenting, I have never felt more creative. Trying to let that be resoundingly true in the book!
This was beautiful and inspiring and I am deeply excited about the workshop!
Thank you, dearest Susannah!

I hope it's helpful and that your return is gentle and exactly what you need it to be. Sending hugs, Cathy.
This is beautiful! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much for reading, Rey!
Loved this and yes - would love a workshop!
Ahh thanks, Virginia! Noted!
